IW Tour On Tour with the Wayne Shorter Quintet

We continued our amazing collaboration with Wayne, Danillo, John and Brian, in summer '08 with a six-city European tour. This fall we continue with more exciting concerts and venues including Carnegie and Disney Halls, celebrating Wayne's 75th Birthday year!

Legacy Commissioning Project Kicks into High Gear

We continued to commemorate our 10th Anniversary with the premiere of Roberto Sierra's nonet for wind quintet and string quartet, Concierto de Camara. There were two successful performances with the Miami String Quartet this past summer, in Portland, OR and Santa Fe, NM. Check out the calendar for more performances this fall in South Carolina and California.

We're also looking forward to the next Legacy Commissioning Project premiere, which is Jason Moran's Cane, at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, this October.

IW and OSQ Valerie Coleman's Nonet Premieres Along Side the Sierra

Valerie wrote a companion piece to Roberto Sierra's Concierto de Camara, also scored for the nine players that make up the wind quintet and string quartet. We premiered her piece entitled Des Films Epiques, with great success, also at Chamber Music Northwest, in Portland. This time the partnership involved the wonderful musicians of the Orion String Quartet.
